A shopper has found your product. The price looks reasonable. They’re close to buying, but they have one question about sizing, delivery, or whether the product is right for them. If the answer isn’t easy to find, they may leave rather than contact support.
That may be a problem with the buying experience rather than the price. Before changing either, it helps to understand what the shopper needs.
The short answer: Algoshop AI Chatbot & Live Chat is a Shopify app for AI-assisted customer conversations. It combines answers to common questions, product guidance, proactive outreach, order support, and human live chat. The aim is to help customers make buying decisions with less friction; the outcome still depends on the store and its setup.

The questions that stop a purchase
Not every abandoned session means the price was wrong. Sometimes the customer simply doesn’t have enough information.
Think about a customer considering a jacket. They need to know whether the fit runs small, when it will arrive, and if exchanges are possible. A size chart and FAQ might answer all three. But if those details are scattered across different pages, the customer still has work to do.
A useful shopping assistant brings the relevant information into the conversation. It should help with a decision, not interrupt the shopper just to create another popup.
| Where the shopper gets stuck | What useful assistance looks like |
|---|---|
| Choosing between similar products | Explain the differences and surface relevant options |
| Wondering about delivery or returns | Answer from the store’s current policies |
| Needing help with an order | Provide an appropriate order-support path or human handoff |
These are situations to consider when deciding whether a chatbot would help your store.
What Algoshop actually does
Algoshop describes itself as an AI sales chatbot for ecommerce. Its Shopify App Store listing and product overview identify five functions worth understanding.
Product questions and recommendations
The assistant can use connected store information to guide product discovery. Rather than forcing someone to filter a catalog repeatedly, a conversation can narrow the choice: what the product is for, which options might fit, and where the shopper can look next.
This works only as well as the underlying information. Merchants should check important claims about compatibility, materials, sizing, stock, and policies before letting the assistant speak for the store.

Proactive messages, with a reason
Algoshop also describes behavior-based outreach, including product suggestion cards, reminders, and promotional messages. Unlike a standard chat window that waits for someone to ask a question, these features let merchants configure when to start an interaction.
Timing matters. A useful recommendation might answer a question the shopper is likely to have. A discount shown to every visitor immediately could distract from the product and erode margin. Configure the message around a real shopping need, then check the impact instead of assuming that more popups mean more sales.
Live chat and human handoff
A chatbot shouldn’t improvise when a request requires judgment. A damaged order, unusual return, or sensitive account question may need a person.
Algoshop describes a live-chat workspace and human handoff for conversations that need personal attention. That’s an important part of the setup to test: can a shopper reach a human, and can the support team see enough context to continue the conversation?

Order support and social conversations
The Shopify listing also mentions self-service order tracking and conversations through WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Those can be useful for merchants whose customers ask questions before and after a purchase across several channels.
Features vary by plan. As listed on the Shopify App Store on October 9, 2026, AI order and shipping tracking is included in Starter and higher plans, while the WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram AI chatbot is listed in Essential and higher plans. A simple way to evaluate it on your store
Start with one common reason shoppers hesitate. Don’t try to automate every conversation on day one.
First, review your source information. Check product details, shipping policy, return policy, and other answers the chatbot will rely on. Incorrect answers are more damaging than a slow answer.
Next, test the conversation yourself. Ask a question with an obvious answer, one that needs a product comparison, and one that requires a human. See what happens on a phone as well as a desktop.
Then choose a measurement period. Look at whether shoppers use the assistant, what they ask, where the handoff fails, and what happens to purchases and support workload. Review its analytics definitions before treating any ‘assisted revenue’ number as incremental sales caused by the chatbot.
For a small store, even a simple log of recurring customer questions can help. If several conversations reveal that the size guide is unclear, improving the product page may be as valuable as the chat interaction itself.
Three conversations to test before going live
Use the following as an evaluation checklist, not a claim that Pricision has tested Algoshop.
| Test question | What to check |
|---|---|
| “Will this jacket fit someone who normally wears a medium?” | Does the answer rely on accurate size information, and does it acknowledge missing details? |
| “How is this jacket different from the other one?” | Are product differences correct and links relevant to the current catalog? |
| “My order is damaged. Can I speak with someone?” | Can the shopper reach a human, and is enough conversation context preserved for follow-up? |
Record incorrect answers, time to human handoff, and recurring questions. Those observations are useful even if you have not yet measured a conversion-rate change.
Conversations and prices are different levers
Here is where the distinction matters for a Pricision reader.
A chatbot can help answer, ‘Does the shopper have what they need to decide?’ A price experiment helps answer, ‘Which tested price performs better against the metric we care about?’
Those questions influence the same checkout, but they aren’t interchangeable. A higher conversion rate after installing chat doesn’t prove the product’s price is right. Likewise, a price test won’t fix an inaccurate returns policy or a confusing size chart.
If you’re testing prices with Pricision, record changes to chat prompts, outreach campaigns, promotions, and product information during the test. Any of them could affect how shoppers respond, making the price result harder to interpret. Ideally, keep those experiences stable across price groups while the pricing experiment runs.
And look beyond orders. Revenue per visitor can rise even when conversion falls. Profit per visitor can tell a different story again, depending on product cost and other inputs. Decide which question you’re answering before deciding that an improvement is real.
Who should consider Algoshop?
Algoshop is worth evaluating if shoppers regularly need product advice, your team repeats the same policy answers, or messages arrive through several channels. It may be less useful for a store with straightforward purchases and few customer questions.
There is also an operational commitment: someone needs to own the store knowledge, review the assistant’s answers, maintain campaign timing, and handle escalations. An AI sales chatbot isn’t a substitute for that responsibility.
The decision to make
If customers keep asking the same questions before they buy, fix the source of that uncertainty. Better product information may be enough in some cases. In others, a well-configured conversation can help them find the answer at the moment they need it.
